[font=verdana]The Body Of Adolf Hitler (2004)
Hitler has only got one ball,
Göring has two (but very small),
Himmler has something sim'lar,
But poor old Goebbels has no balls at all.
The old army song (sung to the tune of 'Colonel Bogey') was pretty disparaging about Hitler. Well, he was the enemy, after all. But what are the real facts about the Fuhrer's body?
In 1944, a group of German generals carried out a bomb plot to end Adolf Hitler's life. They felt he was becoming increasingly unreliable and irrational as the leader of the German nation.
Previously, Hitler had implimented a military strategy which saw the country quickly expand and conquer large parts of Europe. Why, then, did he make a series of blunders which culminated in the disaster of Stalingrad - the turning point in the war - where he appeared to be oblivious to reason or advice from his experienced generals?
The answer might be found in his medical records. Hitler was a hypochondriac who employed a quack doctor to supply him with amphetamines. He had chronic bowel disorders. He suffered tremors in his left arm and leg. And he may have had Parkinson's disease and syphilis.
The Body of Adolph Hitler looks at how these illnesses and their treatments affected his body and mental state over the course of his life from birth to his suicide in the Berlin bunker in 1945.
