Belief in a UFO phenomenon is essentially mainstream at this point. How many shows does Joe Rogan do a week that is about UFOs somehow, or entirely? I'd say 65% of his podcast is devoted to discussing the topic. Why? Because it's popular and most people believe in it. Why? Because the evidence is overwhelming, and no, it's not my job to point anyone to the evidence if they have already made up their mind that there is not, in any way, shape or form, a phenomenon worth discussing or researching at all. Do people try to make money off paranormal and conspiracy sub-cultures? Probably, yes. But research into there being a phenomenon isn't really fiction, when you are talking about documented evidence and whistleblower testimony. If one doesn't believe that there are UFOs, either man-made or alien etc, then EVERYONE in Ufology, from Greer to Howe to Corbell, are all disinformation specialists, or grifters. I think some of them are, but they couldn't possibly ALL be fake! That doesn't even seem plausible, to me...

Usually the imaginative sci-fi tales are the purposely crafted disinformation to cast doubt on the entire phenomenon. It starts to get so muddy, you can no longer really see anything. That's part of how psychological warfare works and how it is extremely successful.
Greer has always said that covert military operations have spoofed a phony ET threat etc. That's a big part of his message. But that means that there is still a phenomenon that is man-made, which suggests there are still advanced technologies that are being kept from the rest of humanity. And so it goes... This is a big part of the whistleblower narrative that is currently underway in congressional hearings on the subject in America right now. For those that are not in the US, and not paying attention to any of that, they will not understand how much effort is being made for this subject to be taken seriously, in a legal manner, and how there are competing factions of so-called "disclosure", that are trying to steer this larger effort. So it could be a scam, but there is obviously a bigger picture agenda that points to something genuine, even if it stems from something essentially man-made or artificial, but technological and scientific all the same...
