PLOT
A mysterious aristocrat sails around the world for seven years looking for the meaning of life and spiritual enlightenment. Suddenly he has The Answer. Or has he just cracked up?

He then returns, inspired to perform a provocative one-man show in front of a live audience, where he proceeds to confront his inner shadow in what appears to be a schizophrenic meltdown, whilst delivering a raucous, unconventional New Age / Self-Help style lecture. Forget New Age. This is post-New Age.

Filmed across the North Sea and in Suffolk, England, comes a daring, original, avant garde new film for people who think deep and broad.
Upon returning from his voyage of self-discovery, our hero buys an abandoned military airfield and converts its biggest hangar into a surreal theatre space and proceeds to stage his outrageous but impassioned one-man show to a live audience, during which he confronts his dark side, culminating with the ritualistic slaying of his previously cherished symbol of salvation - the Buddha himself.

Why does he want to behead Buddha? What is the metaphor and meaning behind such an act? All becomes clear as the story and audacious live performance unfolds.

The one-man show performance scenes were filmed in front of a real live audience, not extras, whose reactions, laughter, fascination and shock were all totally genuine. A real aircraft hangar was converted into a unique performance space and a luxurious private yacht was commissioned for scenes filmed across the North Sea.

Original, thought provoking. utterly irreverent but totally honest, Beheading Buddha is not your average pop culture escapism
