This torrent is an update to one posted a couple of days ago ( http://concen.org/tracker/torrents-details.php?id=22504 ) regarding a possible link between a vaccination routinely administered to protect children against "MMR" (see below) and autism. I would like to see comments about this subject on the ConCen forum attached to this upload, if anyone has any thoughts or feelings.
On the morning "Radio One" program of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) of 11 January, 2011, host Anna Maria Tremonti interviewed Seth Mnookin, whose new book _The Panic Virus: A True Story of Medicine, Science and Fear_ had just been released. The thesis of the author appears to imply that campaigns against childhood vaccinations are misguided and dangerous. In particular, Mr Mnookin tries to discredit the research of Dr Andrew Wakefield, whose licence to practise medicine in the U.K. had been revoked following an inquiry regarding that research into a possible link between childhood autism and an immunisation routinely administered to young children around the world to protect them against "MMR" (measles, mumps and rubella). The original interview can be found at http://tinyurl.com/4vkakp2 .
In response to numerous letters, emails and phone calls, Ms Tremonti, with what appears to be a degree of reluctance (as judged by the way she conducts the interview and what she says after finishing it) did speak with Dr Wakefield himself on 27 January 2011 ( http://tinyurl.com/4z5bwrf ). More information about contacting the show's producers is given in the recording which accompanies this description (which is a slightly extended version of what appears at the location specified by the URL above). Dr Wakefield has a site at http://vaccinesafetyfirst.com/ that provides more information. Also accompanying this file are several PDF files downloaded from that site which support Dr Wakefield's research and personal/professional integrity.
Seth Mnookin was also interviewed on "The World" (http://theworld.org/2011/01/25/seth-mnookin-panic-virus/ ) on 24 January 2011. A forum in which Mr Mnookin is participating has been set up at http://tinyurl.com/panicvirus . Those who care about this issue and may know something about it might want to familiarise themselves with the main argument of Mr Mnookin and take part in that forum discussion.
