It's a bodily function that links every member of the human race. The ancient Romans liked to do it communally, while the Victorians preferred to do it privately. Even inventors have lent their name to it. It may be surprising, but excrement has played a major role in history.
Explorer and historian Monty Hall discovers the significance of "the number two" by travelling the world, talking to experts who reveal the culture, history and science of poo. On his expedition, Hall discovers how unsuspecting cavemen left a trail of mini time capsules called copulites, a form of fossilised dung.
Copulites have helped scientists make discoveries about early man, including their early diets and lifestyles. One ancient turd has revealed that man's arrival on the North American continent was much earlier than previously thought. Hall unearths the amazing manner in which the modern world puts dung to use, from heating to houses, and also climbs the world's largest steaming poop pile. Dig deep in this faece-inating documentary.
