Israel announced today that 240 more illegal settlement homes would be built in the occupied West Bank in the area of East Jerusalem. This area is of course particularly sensitive because East Jerusalem must serve as a Palestinian capital in any two-state solution. Everything Israel has done around Jerusalem since occupying the West Bank in 1967 has been aimed at making sure that never happens.
