The original name of this torrent I uploaded last year here on Con Cen was called "Curtis Sliwa - WABC - GATT and The WTO - 1994 - Red HOT."

I changed the title to better reflect what it contains. In 1994...50,000 watt radio station in New York City (which is the flagship radio station of Rush Limbaugh) had a late early morning broadcast with Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa.

Now I could care less about Curtis or what political views he may have had or still has. That is irrelevant.

GATT was legislation that led directly to World Trade. Here you will hear a rare snapshot of people opposing this legislation. As you will listen you will hear predictions of where this legislation will lead to. Want to know "how we got here" ? Give a listen....

The fact that these callers ever got on the air on a major mainstream radio station in a major market in the first place is by itself amazing.

It was in the early AM hours somewhere around 3:00 AM and about a week before GATT was to be voted on in a lame duck Congress...and management probably figured not many were listening...well I was not only listening...I was recording it as well.

What is relevant here is that you will hear proof that Rush Limbaugh not only supported World Trade (thus the elimination of your jobs) but also Rush banned commercials and any opposition talk to World Trade.

Curtis had a call in guest named Carl who has been trying to get the information about about how GATT (now known as WTO) will end up devastating this country.

There was some 22,000 pages of this treaty and another 4,000 pages that accompanied it. Note that some of the comments that left some wondering if any of the legislators have actually read all of the legislation. (Sound familiar?).

Worst yet..this legislation was on a "fast track" which meant there was only going to be 20 hours to discuss it in the legislature and nothing could be deleted from it. You might want to download and listen to this purely from the historical perspective on how our politicians...(and broadcasters) sold us out.

Curtis explained how Rush Limbaugh refused to allow paid advertisements (from a Conservative group run by Pat Pat Buchanan and Phyllis Schlafly) that opposed GATT/World trade. Rush refused to air these ads on both his radio and TV show.

Caller: "Im a little puzzled about that, I always admired Rush and uh."

Carl: "Why isn't he doing it though...what is he hiding....is he being paid off maybe"?

Curtis : "If I am Pat Buchanan and Phyllis Schlafly who have been friends of his and have been supported of one another and I am wheeling money to you...they are paying in cash ...and The Rush Limbaugh Show both TV and radio and have rejected it....this is supposed to be free market...and I find that literally censoring a message....."

Carl: " Why doesn't he talk about it"...or allow people to call in about it...

Again, keep in mind that Rush and Curtis both worked in the same building at the time...for the same station...

What is really the saddest thing about all this ...is that many of the predictions made sixteen years ago came true...

If Rush was really the true conservative that he claims to be...he would have helped conserve our jobs here in the United States...and not censoring information that ultimately betrayed countless millions of his listeners who looked up to him... to them the truth....Rush always maintained that he was the "truth detector"...

I rest my case.....
