Share the journey of a 5 billion mile trek to the outer limits of our solar system. Hear the beautiful songs of the planets. The complex interactions of the cosmic plasma of the universe, charged electromagnetic particles from the solar wind, planetary magnetosphere, rings and moons create vibration soundscapes which are at once utterly alien and deeply familiar to the ear. Some of these sounds are hauntingly like human voices singing, giant Tibetan bowls, wind waves, birds and dolphins. Many are familiar in a way unique for each listener.

VOYAGER has left our solar system forever. The sounds on this recording will never be made again in our lifetime.

Updated information

In 1990, the NASA made the Symphonies Of the Planets series from raw, uncataloged space sounds data as a “promotional” series.. They did not go through the lengthily process to document specific planets, moons or rings. Rather they selected random information from the raw data and processed it to produce Symphonies Of The Planets. However, all sounds are “Space Sounds”. There are no engine sounds from the spaceprobes.

Sample review:
I was immediately swept away by the ethereal sounds captured on these CD,s. Disc #1 features a slow, hypnotic collage of low, bell-like tones droning behind some sort of "solar wind", while Disc #5 sounds almost as if it were recorded underwater, with waves of low, bubbling noises in the foreground, backed with what sound eerily like dolphin cries.
These discs are wonderful for meditation, and make for fascinating listening.

some of the most beautiful sounds i have ever heard. though the information regarding exactly how these sounds were made audible is more than a little spotty, the thought that these are naturally (not to mention perpetually) ocurring sounds is staggering. really lush, calming, aligning sounds. more engaging than most ambient music i've heard (from someone who listens to eno, aphex twin, the orb, amp, etcetcetc, and has one album to their name, that's saying quite a lot).
don't pass them up if they come your way.

CHECK THIS OUT!
In 1989, Dr. Jeffrey D. Thompson, D.C., B.F.A. was approached by representatives working with NASA and JPL to explore a series of powerful recordings which the Voyager I & II Spacecraft had sent back from Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. These recordings seemed to be having a profound effect on the scientists and researchers who were exposed to them.
