*In the last two decades of her life, West kept up a very active social life, making friends with Martha Gellhorn, Doris Lessing, Bernard Levin, comedian Frankie Howerd, and film star and director Warren Beatty, who filmed her for the movie Reds, a biography of journalist John Reed and his connection with the Russian Revolution. She also spent time with scholars such as Jane Marcus and Bonnie Kime Scott, who began to chronicle her feminist career and varied work.

Enough said.

A more temperate evaluation of Joyce was published by Michael Walsh, who remarked Joyce received his fearsome scar, probably from a leftist thug, stewarding an election meeting for Conservative/Unionist Jewish candidate Jack Lazarus.

2. William Joyce: Twilight over England (1940).

'A masterpiece of war-time German propaganda by the
infamous Lord Haw-Haw, later executed by the British
for treason. The general theme repeated here is of
Jewry's mastery of England and Joyce's fervent desire
that the British evict their Jewish rulers and make a
separate peace with Germany.'
