Has Blagojevich been set up?
On December 9th., Governor Rod Blagojevich of the State of Illinois was arrested by the FBI for trying to "sell" the senate seat formerly occupied by President elect Barak Obama. On reflection, it seems an extraordinarily crass piece of corruption and one has to wonder what exactly was and presumably still is going on. Interestingly, on the day before he was arrested, the 8th. of December, the Governor was doing something that was equally unusual for a politician. He was speaking publicly about the plight of workers thrown out of work by the current "goings on" in industry and informing the people of Illinois that with immediate effect, the State would no longer do business with the Bank of America. This decision seems to have been based on that bank's lack of willingness to help the companies concerned, particularly after the bank had received a sizable chunk of tax payers' money to help them out of a hole which was presumably of their own making anyway.
Strange then, that on the next day he is effectively silenced by prompt FBI action. Now that was a quick response, if you like. And it actually makes more sense than the suggestion that he was totally corrupt and that they had been watching him for several years.
