Psychoanalysis is Freudian psychology, a form of psychology that attempts to find a mental rather than whatever the ruling authority says is the reason for the thought processes we find difficult to deal with.

In her book The New Psychoanalysis (October 2003) Dr. Phylis Meadow (1924-2005) examines the effects of the unconscious on emotional experience and describes the bases of therapeutic action. She calls emotional deadness the worst enemy to successful living and addresses the question of how to get satisfaction in life.

In this interview she gives a very good general overview of psychoanalysis.

Includes an obituary which was published in The Villager.
